Fifth Sunday after Epiphany Contemplation

The shadow carries the trans-formative potential of our own wholeness. As we embrace our worldly shadow we embrace the paradox that we are both human and divine. This is expressed in the Sufi saying, “He who realized his humanness has realized his divinity.” But what is important to realize is that accepting the shadow does not mean becoming identified with it. Jung once said that you do not have a shadow but the shadow has you.
